Gold River, CA - Congressman Dan Lungren (R-CA) is going to open his Angels Camp Town Hall next week by complimenting the great work of The Resource Connection Food Bank, which recently was recognized by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's 2009 Rural Development Progress Report.

"I toured the new facility just after it was built a little over a year ago," said Lungren. "I knew then that Jeannie Hayward and the community were going to make the best of it, and they have."

To adequately defend against a threat one needs to understand the nature of that threat. This is particularly true with regard to Islamic extremists who have attempted to hijack a religion to justify their terrorist actions against innocent men, women and children.  The danger they pose to innocent lives is magnified by an unnatural obsession with death.

We must understand that we face an enemy who is as elusive as they are deadly and sinister. They have made adaptations in response to the measures we have taken to protect the flying public.

Washington DC- Congressman Dan Lungren (R-CA) voted against raising the nation's debt limit. The legislation was going to increase the debt limit by an astronomical $1.9 trillion, the largest one-time increase in the debt limit ever. Congressman Lungren released the following statement:

"Instead of addressing the very serious problem of our growing debt, the Majority is kicking the can down the road by raising our debt limit by $1.9 trillion dollars.
